1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to
Nett is operated by Luca De Filippi. By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Nett.
How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
2. What Nett does
Nett is an AI nutrition coach. You describe or photograph what you eat, and it estimates the nutritional content, keeps your log, tracks your weight and goals, and answers questions about your diet. It can read metrics from Apple Health when you allow it.
Nett is in beta. Features change, break and disappear; we make no promise of uptime, and you should not rely on it as your only record of anything.
3. Nett is not medical advice
Talk to a qualified professional before changing your diet, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, managing a condition such as diabetes, kidney or heart disease, taking medication, or have a history of eating disorders. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
Calorie and macro figures are estimates produced by AI models from your description or photo. They can be wrong, sometimes badly. Do not rely on Nett for allergens, intolerances or any other safety-critical decision about food — read the actual label on the actual product.
4. Who can use Nett
You must be at least 16 (14 in Italy and other countries that set the digital-consent age there) and able to enter a contract. During the beta, access may be limited to invited accounts.
5. Your account
You sign in with Google or with Apple; we never see or store your password with those providers. Keep your device and your sign-in secure — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
6. How you may use it
You agree not to:
- use Nett for anyone else's health data without their informed consent, or upload photos of people who have not agreed to it;
- present Nett's output as professional, medical or dietetic advice to others;
- scrape, resell, sublicense or redistribute the service or its data;
- attempt to break, overload or circumvent authentication, rate limits or usage limits, or use automated clients against the API;
- use Nett to build a competing model or dataset, including by bulk-extracting its responses;
- upload unlawful content, malware, or content you have no right to share.
7. Your content
What you log stays yours: meals, photos, notes, goals. You give us the licence we need to run the service — to store your content, send it to the AI processors named in the Privacy Policy, and show it back to you. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, including any photo that shows another person.
8. Third-party data and integrations
Product and barcode lookups use Open Food Facts and FatSecret. Open Food Facts data is published under the Open Database Licence and its product photos under CC BY-SA; where Nett shows one, it credits the source and links to the original product page. Apple Health is governed by Apple’s terms — we only read what you authorise, and you can revoke access at any time.
9. Price
Nett is free during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you before anything you use starts costing money, and nothing you have already logged will be taken away from you.
10. Ending it
You can stop at any time: Settings → Account → Delete Account erases your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that puts the service or other users at risk, or that we are legally required to close — and we will give you notice unless the law or the risk prevents it.
11. Disclaimers and liability
Nett is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and, if you are a consumer, the mandatory rights your local law gives you.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect; continuing to use Nett afterwards means you accept them.
13. Law and disputes
Italian law applies, and the courts of Italy have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory rules and may bring proceedings there.
